Hand formed sterling silver scarab box. The body of the box was formed with hammers using a technique called synclastic raising. The 3-D scarab image is made by repousse and chasing (hand formed with hammers and punches, working from both sides of the image to get a three dimensional piece). The box is 4 1/2" across by 3" tall (with lid) and weighs over 14 oz. 2002 More Bug Box photos
